Songcards is proud to sponsor 24:1900 this summer.
24:1900 is a virtual festival hosted by my good friend Mark at 122 Music Management.
Below you will find more info from Mark himself and details about how to get involved.
My name is Mark, and both I and my business partner, Mike, run 122 Music Management, based in London, England. We have been running our business for about 18 months, building our reputation, in person and online, as a genuine, friendly yet unique management team; i have collaborated with many unsigned independent acts that have seen us run a stall at Independent Label Market and promote a successful live night at The Amersham Arms.
This year, we will be hosting a global virtual festival called 24:1900. We are choosing acts from territories that cover every timeline, so that each act will start their ‘set’ at 1900 (or 7pm). This is the unique theme that binds our event together.
The plan is this.
Each band/artist is being asked to provide a video of a live performance, with sound going through a PA to achieve the best sound quality possible. This performance may be from a live show, rehearsal room, home, wherever, as long as the image and sound quality are of broadcast order (aspect ratio 16:9).
As such, bands/artists are NOT being asked to perform live (that would be far too complicated). We ask that any set lasts approximately 40 minutes. This will allow band/artists time to interact with any online fans in a chat after the performance (approx 15 minutes), as well as have the chance to sell their music/products. We will also enable an online merch table to be present during the course of the set, so that acts can benefit from any sales during their set.
We plan on selling tickets to 24:1900 for £10-12. We will take a 10% cut (after stripe fees are processed) of all tickets sales, plus the acts we manage will appear on the bill.
We are also fundraising with charitable partners; they too will receive a 10% cut (after stripe fees are processed) of all tickets sales. We have secured the first charity that we will be raising money for (Music Venue Trust), and we will be signing a contract with MSF once we finalise our line-up/confirm the date for 24:1900.
That means that bands/artists who join us for the event will receive 80% of ticket sales (again, after Stripe fees taken), and band/artists will keep 100% of anything that they sell (minus any other processing fees e.g. Bandcamp).
If you would like to perform at this event, please see 24:1900 to check if we are looking for acts from your timezone, and if so, can you please fill in this form so that we can see if you are a good fit. The deadline for submitting the form is Saturday 6 July 23:59 (BST/UK).
To be clear, any interested artists/bands will need to organise and pay for any costs associated with the producing this live performance. Artists should send their live 'sets' by 30 September 2024 23:59 (BST/UK).
We look forward to listening to your music.
